Psychological Therapy

During difficult times, it can be hard to see a way forward or imagine things feeling different. Daybreak Wellbeing offers a supportive, non-judgemental space for older adolescents and adults to explore their experiences, develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and work towards meaningful change.

Therapy takes an individualised approach, recognising that each person's experiences, circumstances and needs are unique. Drawing on evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and EMDR, sessions are tailored to support you in understanding patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties, developing practical skills, and navigating challenging emotions and experiences. Trauma-informed principles guide this work, with the pace and focus of therapy shaped around your individual needs.

Areas of interest include anxiety and depression, eating difficulties and body image concerns, trauma, emotional regulation, stress and burnout, life transitions, self-esteem and self-worth, and longstanding patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving.

The aim of therapy is to support you to better understand yourself, build on your existing strengths, and develop ways of responding to life's challenges that feel more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.

Appointments are available in person or via telehealth and are typically scheduled weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs, circumstances and therapeutic goals. Appointment frequency can be reviewed as therapy progresses.

Supervision

Laurie Manson is a Board-approved supervisor offering supervision to psychologists within her approved scope of practice, including provisional psychologists undertaking the 4+1 and 5+2 pathways.

Supervision provides a supportive, collaborative space to reflect on clinical practice, strengthen therapeutic skills and develop professional confidence. The focus is on supporting each practitioner to become the best clinician they can be through thoughtful reflection, ongoing learning and increased self-awareness.

Sessions can explore case conceptualisation, therapeutic approaches, ethical decision-making, professional challenges, practitioner wellbeing and the development of a confident professional identity. Supervision is tailored to individual learning goals, clinical experiences and program requirements, recognising that each practitioner brings their own strengths, perspectives and areas for growth.

Laurie's approach aims to foster reflective, capable and compassionate practitioners who feel supported in their professional development and clinical work.

Supervision is available in person or online, with appointments arranged to suit individual and program requirements. Please get in touch to discuss supervision enquiries.
