Laurie Manson
Registered Psychologist
Laurie Manson is a registered psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the field of psychology. Her approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practice, with an emphasis on understanding each person's experiences, circumstances and individual needs.
Recognising that reaching out for psychological support can feel daunting, Laurie aims to provide a welcoming, non-judgemental space where people feel heard and supported as they explore their experiences and work towards meaningful change.
Laurie values an approach that recognises each person's individuality, drawing on their existing strengths while creating space to explore difficulties with curiosity, compassion and care.
Her therapeutic approach is individualised, drawing primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her work is also informed by trauma-informed and stabilisation-based approaches, alongside other evidence-based therapies where appropriate.
Laurie works with adults experiencing a range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, challenges with self-esteem and body image, and the effects of distressing or traumatic experiences. She is interested in understanding how life experiences and longstanding patterns of thinking, feeling and relating can shape present-day difficulties.
A Little About Laurie
Outside of work, Laurie enjoys spending time with loved ones and her cheeky dog. She loves being in nature, whether exploring the ocean or wandering through the forest, and finds joy in creativity and dance. Time in nature also offers Laurie a sense of grounding and connection with her faith.
